Prosecco House, London’s first dedicated Prosecco bar, has opened just off Tower Bridge.
Founded by Kristina Issa, the concept originated from Issa’s frustration at not being able to find top-quality Prosecco in London.
Located in the plush new One Tower Bridge development, the interiors have been finished with an eye on luxury and detail. The mirrored tables and velvet bar stools strike us as gentle gestures back to the high life of 1920’s New York with a stylish European twist. The interiors, though, are also complemented by darker woods that will remind you of the airy Italian countryside.
Prosecco House food and drink
As you might expect, this new venue is all about Prosecco, and guests will find more than 20 varieties to choose from.
Bubbly Prosecco has developed a fan following in London, and globally, over the last few years. True Prosecco comes from the DOCG (controlled and guaranteed origin denomination) zone in the province of Treviso in Italy.
The bar’s founder Issa has gone to great lengths to secure only the best Prosecco for guests, and Prosecco House will be the city’s exclusive stockist of Prosecco from five family-owned Italian wineries: Marchiori, Rivalta, Cirotto, TASI Bio and Andreola.
All of these wineries have their own distinctive taste and style, and a bottle can set you back anything between £30 to around £100.
While it’s all about the drink, Prosecco House also has a short nibbles menu and customers can pair their Italian wine with fresh focaccia, salami or gorgonzola.
Prosecco House reviews
The new bar appears to have been a hit with the critics. The Evening Standard highlighted the bar’s exphasis on quality, writing that it only serves “Prosecco Superiore DOCG, a premium variety of the Italian sparkling wine.” While The Handbook had good things to say about the food, writing “during the day there is a delicious spread of Italian focaccia sandwiches, and coffees, but as the evening grows closer you can swap in your sarnies for a platter, featuring some Italian favourites, such as, gorgonzola, salami, cicchetti, and prosciutto.”
Prosecco House social buzz
The venue seems to have been a hit with customers too, with many people showing off their visit on Twitter and complimenting Issa’s passion for the Italian bubbly.
